Bathymetry

Bathymetry

KASI Aviation recently became the first aircraft provider in the world to install an Optech CZMIL system in our Piper Navajo aircraft. We are capable of installing all of the leading Bathymetric LiDAR systems on the market today, including the Optech SHOALS and the Leica AHAB Hawkeye.
The Optech CZMIL Installation in C-GKSX was completed in less than a day, with the aircraft flying the first calibration flight the same day. Installation was overseen by KASI President Mark Kalus and was performed in conjunction with the Optech team in Stennis, Mississippi. For details on how KASI can help you reduce the cost and improve the data quality of your bathymetry surveys, contact us. The full bathymetric survey of Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal was completed one week after C-GKSX’s arrival on site in Panama City, and the Panama Canal Authority was quick to contact our client to add further survey work in the area.

C-GKSX with CZMIL Installed
C-GKSX is a PA31 Navajo with an Optech CZMIL installed. It sips 30gph at 140kts, the optimal speed for the CZMIL. That’s less than half of what a King Air would burn at the same speed. C-GKSX did flight times of 5 to 6 hours surveying in Panama in 2015, a mission time that would be impossible in other aircraft like the King Air or Twin Otter. KASI is the only Navajo operator in the world to install the CZMIL and we will gladly accommodate your Bathymetry system of choice.
