Below are just a few survey specific modifications which have been developed make the PA-31-350 the ideal survey platform.
Large Format Camera Port
This modification installs a large format Camera Port in the aft fuselage of the aircraft. This Camera Port’s outer dimensions are 21″ x 28″ allowing for a greater variety of sensor suites to be installed and allows for improved weight and balance adjustment.

Heater Exhaust Extension
This modification adds an Extended Exhaust Pipe to the cabin combustion heater. The Extended Exhaust Pipe is positioned on the cockpit right-hand lower fuselage and deviates the combustion heater’s exhaust gasses over the wing root. This eliminates any possible issues of exhaust ingress into the cabin by the camera port(s) and eliminates possible heat-hazing or damage to the mission equipment and lens from exhaust gas streams.
